Getting to Camden

You will probably want to check the official directions to

Adventure Aquarium
Camden Waterfront (including the Tweeter Center)
Cooper University Hospital
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital
Virtua Health Camden
Rutgers University
UMDNJ - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
Coriell Institute for Medical Research
Public Transportation

If you stay in Cherry Hill or one of the other towns in the area, you may want to contact NJ Transit for bus and train routes and schedules.  Most of them will take you to a PATCO station.  The main bus terminal is at the Walter Rand Transportation Center, where you will find PATCO's Broadway station.

There are three PATCO stations in Camden: Ferry Avenue (for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital), Broadway (for Cooper Hospital, the Aquarium, and the Tweeter Center), and City Hall (for Rutgers and most government offices.)  The City Hall station is closed on weekends.

From Center City Philadelphia, you can catch PATCO or the River Link Ferry over to Camden.

From Trenton and stations along the Delaware River, you can catch New Jersey Transit's RiverLINE.

Where to Eat

There is food available at the Aquarium and at the Tweeter Center.  Some other places where I've eaten are:

Cooper Court
Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center
Haddon Ave & Mickle Blvd
1-800-8-COOPER (1-800-826-6737)
I eat here often.  The chicken caesar salad is wonderful!

Crossroads Cafe
2 Riverside Dr
(856) 365-1770
This is across the street from the Aquarium and has a nice cafeteria style selection.

George's Restaurant
223 Market St
(856) 757-0015
I used to eat here when I worked at Rutgers and have been there a few times since I left.  It's a nice little place to eat.

Hank's Bar & Grille
201 Market Street
(856) 541-6651
A friendly place with two bars and a dining room.  If you are in town after 7:00pm Monday through Thursday, check the nightly specials.  I visited for the Friday free buffet (at 5:00pm) and enjoyed every bit of it!

Shirley's Brass Rail
425 Market Street
(856) 963-3888
Shirley's is not too far from the Post Office, the Court House, and Rutgers.  The last time I ate there, I had a great cheese steak with onions.
